Colorful Radishes. Not only there are summer radishes and winter radishes grown through out the year, there are numerous varieties, varying in size and color. In addition, some radishes are grown for their seeds for its oil extraction and it is considered a good companion plant to attract pest insects to protect other vegetables. It can be eaten raw, steamed, cooked or sautéed. Its peppery flavor is a great accent for many dishes. What a mighty vegetable it sounds.
