It looks like this. It is known as Horned Melon, Kiwano, Jelly Melon or Melano and native to a region of the Kalahari Desert in Africa. You can eat the seeds and the clear gelatinous part around the seeds. It tastes like green Bananas. It makes an interesting natural sauce for Yogurt or Salad.
The sign says Cucumbers. It is exciting to find something you’ve never seen before. It is really spiny and you need to be careful picking it up. The skin is firm and I can not wait to cut open to see the inside.
