It is a season you start seeing Kumquats at the market. Its rind is sweet and eaten raw but marmalade or jelly is also good. It also can be preserved in salt, in sugar or dried. Some believe its juice makes a remedy for sore throats.
A line up of fruits liquors. From left; Kumquat, Lemon, Plum, Apricot. I don’t use wood barrel nor there is a hole, so there is no angele’s share but they are not full any longer.
The most fruits are drained in about 3 months and turned into Jam. From left; Lemon peel marmalade, Mascarpone cheese, Kumquat marmalade, Plum jam, Dolcelatte, Apricot jam with pie pieces. Jam and cheese plate. $7
